I'm Kene, a 5th year medical student at the University of Nigeria in Enugu and I would like to show you a bit of my world. The Excitement Never Ends. I hope you like it.
I was born in Kaduna, Nigeria where I spent my childhood. Kaduna is a metropolitan town in Northern Nigeria with a more or less heterogeneous outlook. Early childhood was fun. I loved reading story books and watching TV. I started watching football around 1992 and I am a fervent football fan till today (supported in chronological order Ajax, Deportivo, AS Roma and Barcelona).
I got into the University of Nigeria to study medicine in March 2001. In first year we mainly did Advanced Physics, Chemistry and Biology courses. In second year and part of 3rd year, we did Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology. Next came Pharmacology and Pathology.
After that I have been doing a series of postings in the Teaching Hospital for the past 12 months (Medicine, Surgery, Community Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Otolaryngology). Presently I am doing a posting in Ophthalmology.

My aim of keeping this blog is to express all the fun we have in our daily rounds in the hospital (especially to the uninitiated). Medical School is definitely not as serious as portrayed in "House/ER", neither is it totally ludicrous and unbelievable as seen in "Scrubs". However you need a good sense of humour to go through medical school and this is expressed precisely in this blog.
